Health and Fitness ? Understanding the Purpose of Meditation ...

As the practice of meditation becomes well known in mainstream culture, the discussion over what it means and how it is done becomes increasingly passionate. Like so many other topics, the differences in meditation often may lie more in perception than in actual intention. Although meditation styles vary ? Buddhist, Transcendentalist, Christian, Zen, Sufi, and others ? their purpose is largely the same. At the core of each style or lineage is a desire to return to one?s true nature.

People meditate for a variety of reasons, such as getting better sleep, improving health, making better decisions, concentrating, or reducing stress. Although these are legitimate benefits, the true purpose of meditation is spiritual growth. According to Deepak Chopra, ?The purpose of meditation is to take us into the field of infinite possibilities, to go into the gap between thoughts, then to come back here in order to create our dreams.?

Merely transcending the thoughts in the conscious mind, however, may not be enough to achieve the ultimate goal of meditation. In the early stages of the process, the practitioner must become aware of the negative thoughts that are stored in the subconscious mind ? where they lie dormant, until triggered by an emotion, or a fleeting thought, and are suddenly forced to the surface. As meditation continues, our thoughts and feelings are filtered by a higher consciousness. As a result, the mind is able to free itself while learning how to refrain from snap judgments or emotional reactions.

With the power to still the mind, we put an end to its emotional reactions and stored resentments. Hence, the potential for greater understanding and awareness of the self and the world around us arises. As a by-product, the floodgates to creativity and passion open, which provide an abundance of new circumstances, and opportunities, that were previously hidden. No longer controlled by traumatic programming, the subconscious becomes aware of the synchronicities and joy in its path.

Although the purpose of meditation is to restore the authentic self, there are several obvious benefits of the practice. Below is a short list of the obvious benefits of meditation.

? The little worries and annoyances in everyday life seem smaller and less upsetting.

? As a result of clear thinking, creativity and productivity increase.

? Health improves because of the reduction in stress and anxiety.

? There is a better understanding of one?s true path in life.

Summary

The purpose of meditation ultimately creates happiness and reduces stress levels. Meditation helps to create happy and balanced human beings ? the basic ingredients needed for a better world.

Jon Stewart is hosting Ron Paul. What will he ask him?

Jon Stewart has said Ron Paul hasn't been given his fair share of coverage by the media. On Monday he is hosting the GOP candidate on 'The Daily Show.' And there is lots to talk about.

Jon Stewart has accused the media of unfairly ignoring GOP presidential hopeful Ron Paul ? and now the host of "The Daily Show? is putting his airtime where his mouth is. The inevitable meet-up is occurring: Stewart will host Rep. Paul on his Monday show.

What?s Stewart going to ask him? We think a couple of questions are dead locks. First, Stewart?s mentioned several times Paul?s contention that a border fence with Mexico might be used to keep Americans in, as well as illegal immigrants out. Don?t be surprised if Stewart tries to figure out what the heck Paul means by that. We can hear it already: ?So congressman, you?re saying that US workers might flee south for jobs in the booming Latin American lawn care sector??

Second, health care?s likely to come up. That?s because during the CNN/Tea Party GOP debate on Sept. 12, Wolf Blitzer asked Paul whether a critically ill young person without health insurance should just go untreated, and several audience members shouted out ?yes.? Paul?s own response seemed to emphasize charities, but he didn?t really complete the thought. Maybe Stewart will ask him to explain.

It?s a subject the duo have talked about before. Paul has appeared at least twice previously on Stewart?s show, in 2009 and 2007. In the ?07 interview Stewart pointed out that Paul, a medical doctor, does not accept Medicare in his own practice.

?Would you get rid of it?? asked Stewart, referring to the popular government health-care program for seniors.

?Yes,? said Paul at the time. ?But that?s not high on my agenda.?

A third subject that might get discussed is this: Which is more dangerous, big government or big corporations? In Paul?s past two appearances, Stewart has asked some thoughtful questions about whether the Texan?s libertarian principles might shrink government so much it can?t serve as a counterweight against corporate abuses. Paul has given some thoughtful answers about the role of government in a free society. They?ve engaged in the sort of debate of ideas that?s as rare as a bald anchorman on today?s ?serious? political shows.

And at the end Stewart might try to give Paul some comedy pointers. He?s done that before. Paul?s 2007 appearance was in the middle of that campaign cycle?s debate season, and Stewart offered up what he described as zingers aimed at Paul?s competitors.

?Hey Rudy Giuliani,? said Stewart, of the oft-married, then-frontrunner ex-New York mayor. ?If you love the war on terror so much why don?t you marry it ... oh right, you?d probably just divorce it a couple of years later.?

As for Wisconsin?s former governor, Stewart said, ?Hey Tommy Thompson, what?s your middle name, Tom??

?I?ll have these on cards if you want them,? Stewart said while Ron Paul laughed.

The Funniest Wine Video! | Vinigator.com

OK?This has got to be the funniest thing I?ve seen produced about wine in years. The folks at Red To Brown Wine Reviews blog have outdone themselves. It has some naughty words in it, but if you are in the wine business, if you are Robert Parker or Antonio Galloni or James Suckling or a high scoring California winery, or if you have ever given any thought to the nature of wine marketing and you don?t find this funny, I have a doctor I can recommend.

?

Hat tip to the folks at WineBusiness.com for finding this and exposing it to me.

How to use Internet Marketing in Your Home Business

Anyone who has been involved in internet marketing for some time will understand that making money online is not as easy as most think it is. It is not just a matter of throwing a site (try it!) Sticking a number of products and make your fortune overnight. As it was, the world would be full of millionaires. There is much more to an online company that that.If you're serious about starting a home business, and making the most of your income on the internet, then you need to decide on the type You will come into operation.

A wealthy marketer will have done their homework, have studied the different methods used to make money online, and also checked the tools necessary for internet marketing success. There are many tools you need, without your work will be very much harder. Take the simple autoresponder. I say "simple" because they are used today by just about everyone involved in online marketing, but are not all so simple! Your autoresponder will reply to your e-mail addresses to your lists, answer questions, take orders, accept payment and all your products while you sleep to provide business so you can 24 / 7 rotation.

You can go for a two weeks vacation and come back to the bank much more than you spent on holiday! You also need tools to take payments by debit and credit cards. If not then you will not succeed because that is the way people pay online. Other tools to help you get traffic and other tools. . . I think you get the drift. But there is more than one way to make money online and making money is what internet marketing means that for most people. In fact, if you study the word, the word "marketing" actually refers to identifying and satisfying a customer need profitable, and not just selling and making money.

You can do this "internet marketing" without selling a thing, and do it very well. You could then transfer what you have learned to offline sales promotions and money. However, this is a case in which the popular conception of the word wins the day. Marketing on the Internet refers to making money online however!, Bye bye That's it. We are talking about ways to make money online, and the tools needed to do make. In fact you do not have these tools when you get to a good network marketing program.

You need to be provided with everything you need to make money. Network marketing is a good product and a sales system to sell it. What you do in addition to selling the product itself to other members to recruit for the program, and you pay a commission on what product they sell.Make sure you get to the program depends not only on recruiting for your money to earn, because the money coming into the business only by members of payments, and if you think about it, everyone can not make money that way.

You need to have wealth through the sale of products. So keep an eye out for, but otherwise a good network marketing or multi level marketing business is a good way to make money online. You get a commission, not only on your own product, but also the sales you recruit. Not only that, but also on the sales of your recruits sign on recruits. For some companies, this contributes to infinity down the line, and while you might initially think is, in fact it is not, at least not unless your way up the best MLM upline.

The programs to pay on two levels, so you get paid for your sales recruits and their recruits. That leaves a lot of money into the system for other people. An example of such a program is rich Marketer that pays two levels, and for your own sales. There are others, and you should check each one individually.Making money online is not as easy as most people will try to tell you, but if you find yourself on the right program you will find it a lot easier. There are internet marketing programs that provide you with marketing materials and products, and all you have to do, or to encourage them to make money, or even recruit others do it for you.

What could be better! Sincerely, Carl Hartley

NAIL ART TUTORIAL: Party Nails with Pink Flowers and Black French Tips! #9

When people think of crafting, they think of craft fairs in small towns, of mothers and grandmothers manning booths with hand-sewn clothing for American Girl dolls and beeswax candles and hand-knitted mittens and hats ? and they?re not totally wrong. But these days, everyone is crafting.

Thanks to the proliferation of ?do it yourself? blogs on the internet and online interior design magazines, crafting is bigger than ever. It?s become something that?s no longer reserved for grandmothers who spend their days sewing quilts while they watch episode after episode of General Hospital. In fact, many young people have taken up crafting, having figured out that making great gifts and things for your home is so much easier and better than buying them.

This year, instead of gifting store-bought gifts, consider making things on your own. When you?ve crafted something that you give your friend or your family member, it?s made with love. You?ve put time and effort into it, and that often means much more to someone than something you bought at the local mall. Luckily, you can get all the craft supplies you need online! Here are some must-haves for your next creation.

One of the best things to have around is lots and lots of buttons ? you never know when you?re going to need them for your next project! Let?s say you?re helping the kids make sock puppets ? those puppets need eyes, don?t they? Grab some buttons! Perhaps you?re sewing new buttons onto your favorite jacket; perhaps the snowman out in the front yard could really benefit from the ability to see through his button eyes.

Buttons are great, because children understand what they are and, for the most part, not to ingest them. They?re easy to use as well, as glue guns can work some magic with a button ? you don?t even need a sewing needle! You never know when you?re going to need buttons or any other form of embellishment, so it?s smart to stock up on them now. That way, next time you?re making a quilt that requires button detailing, or doing some at home puppet making, you?ll be all set with everything you need.

Online craft stores have everything from Christmas buttons to Football-themed buttons, assorted all natural colored buttons to Halloween buttons featuring the wicked witch of the west! Candy corn buttons are great for Halloween decorations and costumes, while mini stocking buttons can help dress up a Christmas ornament or outfit. Buttons are the best form of embellishment out there ? easy to use and with great impact, these are something you can?t have enough of!

Another great thing to have in your craft closet is cookie cutters. Most moms have cookie cutters galore, but did you know that you can also use cookie cutters for crafting, not baking? Sure, you?ll use them at Halloween, and again at Christmas, and again at Valentine?s Day and on Easter Sunday ? but why not use them to help the kids learn their shapes? They can trace around the cookie cutters, even use them to create made at home Christmas ornaments to hang on the tree. Bone-shaped cookie cutters can be used to make treats for your furry friends, and any fun shape can be used as either the basis of an ornament for your tree or an ornament itself ? simply add some paint and glitter! Many people think that cookie cutters are limited to baking only, but that simply isn?t the case. There?s lots you can do with cookie cutters ? the fun doesn?t have to stop!

Another craft tool that you?ll never be able to get enough of is glitter. Kids love glitter, and for good reason: This sparkly substance is a whole lot of fun. Whether you?re customizing ornaments for the tree or putting some glitter onto your child?s latest paint creation, you?ll be hard-pressed to find a crafting situation that isn?t made better by glitter. If you?ve got a certain color that you know you or your children love, or that you use a lot, consider buying it in bulk. If not, get a value pack with a little bit of each color, so that you can experiment and have a rainbow of glittery options at your command.

Yet another great option is beading and jewelry making supplies. You?d be surprised at how easy it is to make your own jewelry, especially once you get the hang of using pliers to bend and twist the metal in the direction you need it to go.

Whether you?re making necklaces or earrings, pins or bracelets, stock your craft supply box with bits and bobs of everything so that whenever the inspiration strikes, you?ll have everything ready. And don?t be surprised if your little hobby takes off and turns into a side business.

The 28-year-old, who originally hails from Shreveport, La., went on to become a motivational speaker and an actor on ABC?s ?All My Children? ? and through it all, never lost his sense of humor.

As his ?DWTS? journey begins, another chapter in his life, ?All My Children,? where he?s played former combat veteran and policeman Brot Monroe since 2008, is coming to an end this week as the ABC soap ends its run.

?If it wasn?t for ?All My Children? I wouldn?t even be considered to be here, to be a part of this amazing cast. I?m so grateful for what ?All My Children? did for me, and the fans, the loyal fans,? he told Shaun. ?It is sad that it is going to end this week. It?s been kind of an emotional rollercoaster, but at the same time, I understand new opportunities and new goals and you gotta just go out there and do it.?

Assuming his high scores are enough to push him through to next week, Martinez revealed to Robinson that he and Smirnoff will be doing the jive next week.

?It?s fun? It?s something we?re looking forward to doing,? he added.
