Taste-Test: McDonald's Chocolate Chip Frapp? ~ Food News - Blog

If you live in NYC, or just about any other part of the country right now, you may have noticed temps soaring into the upper 90s. So to battle the wicked heat we decided to mosey over to McDonald's and give their new Chocolate Chip Frapp? (part of their LTO summer menu) a try. The drink is close to a mocha Frappuccino - containing ice, mocha flavoring, chocolate chips, coffee and some kind of creamy dairy component, topped off with whipped cream and chocolate and caramel syrup. Like many other McDonald's menu items, this one is definitely an indulgence (we don't even wanna know how many calories are in this thing). However, for the amount of calories likely contained, taste-wise it kind of fell short of the mark for us. It tasted like freezer-burned ice cream mixed with Hershey's chocolate syrup, with the coffee flavor itself barely detectable. What did you think of Mickey D's new drink?
