South African artist and DJ Leon Botha, a member of the hip-hop collective Die Antwoord, died June 5 in Cape Town. He was 26.Blogger Xeni Jardin of Boing Boing said Botha succumbed to complications related to progeria, the genetic disease that accelerates the aging process. He had been diagnosed with the disease at age 4.A graphic artist from his teens, Botha was aligned with the South African hip-hop community. He worked as DJ Hi-Tek with Die Antwoord, the act fronted by rappers Ninja and Yo-Landi Vi$$er.Though Botha did not tour with the group, he was hauntingly featured in the act's video for its 2010 breakthrough "Enter the Ninja," which has racked up 5.4 million YouTube views to date.Botha had been in failing health since suffering a stroke in November.
